SWC is a week long Ice Hockey Tournament & Training Camp held in Stockholm, Sweden at Danderysvallen. SWC began in 2023 as a collaboration between the Kraken Beers, CSWS teams from San Jose, USA & SDE Veterans from Stockholm, Sweden.
It’s a friendly seniors hockey tournament focussing on cultural exchange, skill development & physical fitness. It was founded as a fun alternative to the CAN/AM & Heartland hockey camps. SWC had another successful run in January 2024 with coach-led training time, open ice time and a 4 team tournament over 2 days.
Why Sweden?
Stockholm has a lot of available ice, indoor and outdoor. It also has a vibrant recreational hockey community. What it does not have is a one stop location for it all, like Sharks Ice and Stanley’s. However we have contacts in Sweden (SDE, Mariners) and local experience to nurture a tradition that gets better and better each year.
It is roughly a 10 – 13 hour flight from San Francisco.
What does the Program include?
The ‘24 format was a week consisting of:
- A single day mini-tournament.
- A Coach-led ice session
- All the Stick and Puck (Gretzky) time as you want
- Sightseeing and off ice fun.
